Though he has spent the majority of his past four years studying, rowing for the Lightweight Men’s Crew team, and singing in an a cappella group, he also devoted an entire off term to working for the Dartmouth Dining Services, where he learned how to cook and prepare homemade dishes, made to order. He now lives in Belmont, MA and works in a biology lab at Harvard. He hopes to go to graduate school for a degree in paleontology.
Nathan Potter graduated from Dartmouth College in 2011, majoring in Philosophy and minoring in Anthropology of International Health. He developed his love of local foods and flavors concurrently with his passion for travel-- he has spent time volunteering in South America and across the Indian subcontinent, and has fallen madly in love with each and every cuisine he's encountered. Nathan loves to go for long runs, brew beer, and take photos in his all-too-limited spare time. He is in the process of applying to medical school, though he's not yet sure what kind of doctor he wants to be.
Heather graduated from Simmons College with a BA in English Literature and spent 20 years in the Boston area working for public relations agencies promoting consumer and high technology clients. A foodie and gardener, Heather has been focused on making sure her two boys (at least try!) the best fresh food, whether just-picked purple string beans from her CSA, or raw milk from her favorite Martha's Vineyard dairy.
Heather's interest in local food extends beyond just the produce or product at hand, to the people and stories behind the food. One of her favorite parts of working at LocalPickins is learning about all the devoted farmers and artisans out there committed to the craft of raising, growing, making the healthiest and tastiest food possible.

Lindsey Strong - Director of Operations
Lindsey graduated from Middlebury College with a BA in Economics and spent 15 years in Boston with Putnam Investments managing short term assets. Her husband’s career then took them to London, and she and her family now reside on the Northshore of Boston. On most winter weekends, her family heads to the Vermont slopes but she also enjoys cross-country skiing, walking her dog, a good read and cooking. In the warmer weather, it’s hard to get her out of the garden, but she loves summer sports, being on the ocean and spending time with her husband and three boys.
Traveling has always been a passion and living abroad for several years allowed her family to explore much of Europe and develop a love for various cultures and cuisines. From early on, Lindsey has been exposed to organic farming, and savors the search for simple, local food to enjoy with friends and family.
